Our Sewing Retreats are always great fun. Treat yourself to dedicated time to sew on YOUR projects for 4 full days! Set up your equipment in our dedicated sewing room and work as long as you choose for the entire long weekend. This is a great way to make Christmas presents away from curious family members, complete a big project, or finish off a number of UFOs. Price includes lodging, continental breakfast, coffee/tea/water throughout the day, and workspace in the sewing room.

Our 2023 Art Challenge was a great success! Click the slide show above to see the starting materials each artist received and the beautiful creations they produced. We had a great day being together, renewing old friendships and making new friends, working on our UFO’s, and learning how to create a screen project bag. Our yard sale was a lot of fun and raised over $120 to buy fabric for Give Kids The World. Many thanks to all who donated fabric, patterns, trims and books! Special Thanks to Linda for teaching construction of the Project Bag.

Chapter Art Challenge

Participants provided a 1-gallon zip bag filled with any combination of fabric, notions, beading, or anything they wanted their mystery artist to use in a mystery project. Bags were then anonymously exchanged via the Art Challenge coordinator. Artist’s names and bag owners were kept secret until the reveal at a special Chapter Event held in June 2022. The goal for the project was to unify our chapter after years of too much separation from one another. One of our board members, Delisa, was inspired to bring this idea to the Chapter after reading an article in the Spring 2006 issue of American Quilter. In the article, Linda Cline provided guidelines for starting your own Bag of Stuff Challenge. And, you can see in the pictures how enthusiastically members embraced it!
